ABOUT

Alexander J. Harder was born and raised in Sterling, Va, later moving to Williamsburg, VA. He grew up learning to play the guitar, studying every style including classical, jazz, and metal.

By the age of 17, he was regularly playing in local clubs with his own jazz band, The Pierce Collective. He then left Virginia and moved to Boston, Ma to study at the Berklee College of Music. This is where he began his life scoring films and video games.

Learning from some of the best in the world, Alex began developing his own style in developing scores for films and video games. Utilizing a mixture of electronic, orchestral, and rock elements, he formed style that was both powerful yet emotional.  He was part of the sound team that developed the world-renowned JoyceStick (http://www.joycestick.com) virtual reality game. He also scored and provided sound design for several student films and game design projects.
